The West Augustine Nature Society's mission is to keep our community green despite the growing development, deforestation, and littering in our neighborhood.
If you want a free plant come to our next clean up, and the next clean up is called MLK Day of Service clean-up Event 2023. You can find the details below.
Most of the plants we give away for Christmas are planted in holiday coffee mugs, either given to us for free through our local Buy Nothing Group, or bought cheap at the thrift store after the holidays, because buying secondhand and gifting unwanted items keep things out of the landfill. The plants that we gave away to our neighbors included:
- Pomegranate
- Loquat Trees
- Passion fruit vine
- Aloe vera
- Bromeliads
- Pepper Plants
- Spider plants
- Pothos
- Cuban oregano
- Guava
- Red cannas
Even a three year old can be a community activist, and our little brother loves planting and helping out.
